In my high school, the football coach taught chemistry. I blew up the chem lab once. He actually called me at home over the summer and begged me not to take Chem II.
For three straight years of high school, our Health class was taught by the school's football coach. The only thing I remember from those classes were, "If you get an injury, put ice on it" and "If you catch VD, you can get a free penicillin shot at the local clinic."
My 9th grade Oklahoma History teacher was the football/girl's volleyball couch who was very good at assaulting his volleyball players. The only things I remember from that class was the Trail of Tears and the assault.

at my HS the coaches taught Drivers Education (in cars supplied by the school, no less)........they were actually pretty good at it, too!
and this was done in the 1980's at a North Carolina public school adjacent to a military base......you know, communist Canada
