I'm a substitute teacher, and I do more parenting that many of the kids' parents. Fucking around and finding out may make one technically a parent, but it does not imbue one with the skills, compassion, and patience that it takes to raise a human.
Absolutely 100% agree. This hypocrisy is what I noticed and why I fled my Sunday Presbyterian indoctrination meetings, aka "church", at around age 12... much to my "mom's" chagrin. Mine may have squeezed me out, but she weren't no mother, that's for damn sure.
It's all so supremely exhausting and disheartening... almost debilitating. I knew when he lost Drumpf wasn't going to go away, but never dreamed the Rethugs were going to go full 4th Reich on us all. Are we ill-prepared for this... this onslaught of anger and depravity? The hardest part for me is how small I feel, and how in order to continue to chase a paycheck I have to daily just Pretend it's All Okay, when I know for a fact it sure as fuck ain't.
Where are all the liberal, activist Billionaires? You know, people like us who used to say "if I were rich I'd feed the hungry, house the homeless, educate the unfortunate...." and then actually got rich? Why isn't this happening? Instead the rich assholes are winning.
