The actual reason for the 19th Century anti-abortion laws were to simple facts that abortions then were far more dangerous than continuing the pregnancy.Abortions killed women then, but they don't do that now & are amazingly safe to perform.

I'd argue that there are just as many right wing influencers out there, and that the R's are ok with them - they want the lefties and the norms and the libs kicked off

I watched the clip until I got so grossed out by Kim Reynolds’s amateurishly done eyebrows that I had to either stop viewing, or puke. Kim should search for a tik tok on how to make your eyebrows not look like a kindergartner drew them on. It’s been a shit day, so I don’t care that I’m being mean to her. It’s not my fault repubs deserve all the scorn we can heap on them, they earned that all by themselves. I’m gonna fact-check this glass of wine and stack of thin mints and hope for a better day tomorrow.

Another aspect was that a disproportionate number of abortions were being paid for by upper class married men to keep their affairs secret and consequence free. That gets my money for why an evident majority of suffragists either supported anti abortion legislation or simply remained silent on the subject. It turned into the same raw deal they got over Prohibition: History remembers what they did, not why they did it.

yeah there wouldn't be any repercussions for posting something that wasn't in line with the Party's expectations, or not being on there at all.

as with anything, its the lack of review that is the problem - a document written over 200 years ago is not able to cover every future iteration of society, morals and technology - and trying to force it to has led to the exact mess y'all are in now
