I'd be just fine if a book that starts out with brother on brother violence, incest, daughters getting father drunk and raping him, killing of children for laughing at baldness, advocates bashing infants brains out, and torture and execution of the innocent, gets banned... That is a book called the bible.

Steinbeck's advice about writing for Hollywood was to do the job, take the completed assignment to the Nevada/California border, throw it across, and wait.
