As a kid who read apoglia while manning the soundsystem at church...

The whole thing where Jesus asks you to pray quietly to yourself instead of big and loudly like the hypocrites... always seemed to get glossed over.

Well, sure. The Bible isn't as important to them as it is to other Christian sects, and they consider most of it metaphorical or allegorical, rather than... uh... "Gospel truth".

Yes, seeking refuge in Egypt was kind of a thing in those days. I've thought that a biblically inclined person could make a superficial case that the US is like the Egypt of the modern world.

The ADL will go after anyone who criticizes Israel in any way. This business with the prayer shawl and shofar is really antisemitic in that it refers to (I think) the time when Christians all get sucked up into heaven and all the Jews die. I hope the ADL goes after these guys with the same determination.

IIRC Mohammed took his inspiration for his misogynistic monotheistic religion directly from Jewish merchants rather than Christians, but it's been a while so I may be mistaken.

This prat is possibly thinking of the claim in ... I forget which gospel ... that Jesus went into the temple at age twelve and confounded all the priests and scholars with his knowledge. A thing it is a sure bet did not actually happen.
