Meanwhile, democrats in Pennsylvania may have taken control of the state house. I say may because there are still a few outstanding issues like one district electing a dead guy* and a couple of people who were on the ballot for both their house seat and another office and won both, including our next Lt. Governor.
All this means is that there could be enough vacant seats come January to give the republicans a majority to elect the next speaker.
Oh and the speaker sets the calendar for special elections to fill state house seats. Which means the new speaker could delay those elections for months or even a year or more to keep republicans in the majority.
In the New World Order, they expect to be the elites sitting around the table in the Death Star getting choked by Vader when, in reality, they'll all be nothing more than stormtroopers who make real stormtroopers look like marksmen.
Unfortunately, the new Chief Justice is a MAGATy Trumpist, so there is no ballot issue the people can pass that will be instituted if it inconveniences the Republican.
They just fucking ignored the requirements of a constitutional amendment so they could do business as usual when that business as usual was the motivation behind the constitutional amendment, which passed with a 2/3 majority.
Here on out, I guess it's I get to do whatever the Republicans tell me to do. And the Republicans get to do whatever the fuck they want.
This is one of those weird things about American politics that's quirky mainly because it's on the local level. A lot of those unopposed races are agreed to by both county-level party officials. The reason usually given is it frees up money on both sides that they then use to go after the big, hotly-contested races.
So, this election, a Republican judge runs unopposed, and, next election, a Democratic local official up for reelection will get to run unopposed. I know there are officials running unopposed because of feckless leadership on the other side, but that's not always the case. Sometimes, it's just horse trading.
I am confused by the new timeline. Trump agreed not to announce until after the midterms, and the DOJ has a policy of not doing things like indictments until the midterms are over.
Well, the midterms aren't over. They won't be until after the Georgia runoff.

*He died after the ballots were printed.

Better!

And Tommy Tuberville left off the second B that would have made the U soft, but we still have to pronounce it that way.
I like the one guy who tastefully waited until after 12:00 PM on November 9 to start speculating that Gavin Newsom was the 2024 frontrunner.
They'll just move on to the next Republican narrative and pretend it never happened. It's not like they have any respect for their readers.
Thank God she got her GED. That'll open a lot of doors that otherwise would have been closed to her.
I guess if he wants the federal government to stay out of his state, we should honor his wishes.
He does know all those federal funds come with strings attached, right?
Why, it almost sounds like the Republican Party might have a small Trump problem.
Ta, Jamie Lynn. WI, WTF?
