His life mattered. Apparently that's a controversial idea. The police officer who shot and killed Philando Castile in the St. Paul suburb of Falcon Heights, Minnesota, has been charged with manslaughter in the July 6 shooting. As you'll recall, Castile died on camera while his girlfriend, Lavisha Reynolds, live-streamed the aftermath of his shooting on Facebook, marking a whole new frontier in the intersection of social media technology and police brutality. As some smart person said, once everyone had a camera on hand all the time, we didn't get any proof of UFO's, but we got plenty of proof of police killing black people.
“I’m going to check IDs,” the officer says in the audio. “I have reason to pull it over. The two occupants just look like people that were involved in a robbery. The driver looks more like one of our suspects, just ‘cause of the wide-set nose,” the officer continues.
Gee, sounds awfully glib. They just... they just LOOK LIKE suspects, you see! I know it in my gut! And all because of that single facial feature!
Definitely black, and the officer was definitely white. I think he's going to get off because he has a lawyer named Andy Savage, who is one hell of a lawyer. I hope I'm wrong.
The white Chicago cop who shot Laquon McDonald 17 times was charged, finally, with first degree murder. Over a year after the shooting, with false testimony by his fellow cops, and a cover-up attempt by the Mayor's office. The officer, Jason VanDyke, previously had 20 complaints lodged against him by citizens for use of excessive force. He was never charged in any one of those, though one resulted in a six figure settlement being awarded to the complainant.
The only reason this asshole was charged was vociferous pressure from the community, and, suddenly, like magic, a dash cam video from another cop car appeared, had caught the whole thing on tape, which was then suppressed by the police union and the Mayor's office until the sheer force of public outrage left them with no other recourse than to release the video.
I'm tired of hearing about the good cops/bad cops thing because if you're a "good" cop and you see a "bad" cop doing something illegal and you don't report it immediately....you're not one of the good ones. You're worse than one of the bad ones.
... if there's a way to break the news, CNN is on it.
I can just imagine Trump assuring Assange over the phone that his pardon is coming just as soon as he finishes paying all his contractors.
Then he hangs up, and he and Bannon have a good laugh at "that fuckin' mark"
Lord knows the cop's attorney is going to try to venue this one in Sibley or Carver...

Still waiting for the headline screaming, COWARDLY COP KILLS LAW ABIDING HANDGUN OWNER.

There you go. I've noticed that the majority of convicted cops are women or brown or both.
You'll be waiting a long, long, l-o-n-g time.
Wow.
Uhm.The NRA needs popular support. Attacking a cop would reduce their popularity with their most rabid fans.So they won't.

Like I said a while back, Sinclair had it half right. He just didn't know the giant T wasn't a cross.
Holy fuck my appetite.
And his name, Jeronimo Yanez.I don't think trump's gonna give a shit about this guy.
If he was white and his John "Whitey" McWhiterson, then trump would pardon him ASAP.
In Minneapolis? I'd say Larry Craig. Oh, wait. I read "wide stance". My bad.
