Well that's certainly part of it. They hear the same bunkum (see what I did there?) ricocheting around in their personal echo chamber for so long that they regard as being self-evident, like the sun rising each morning. Then when they express it while speaking a general audience they are completely unprepared when anyone takes issue with it.

You know...that Yelton fella looks kinda like Rod Huggins from Achewood...except Huggins is a cartoon character and I would still rather hang out with a fictional character than this clown fuck.

That's the thing about idiots: they don't know they look like idiots. Heck, they don't even know that they are idiots. Because, well, they're idiots.

Because as a Real American (TM) he will naturally be a Republican.

To quote one of my favorite children's books, Elsie Dinsmore, "And when you die, if you're very good, you'll go to heaven and then you'll be white too!" (Yeah, you have to find the original book, not the "adapted" reissue, which strips out all the good stuff.)

...according to Teapublican doctrine it isn't racist if you are saying it to a brown person!

You would think politicians would learn to stop being on pre-taped segments for the Daily Show and Colbert. It rarely ends well for them.
