Trump sure as hell did not make democracy and freedom stronger here or anywhere. He did, however, test the very fiber of those things, only to prove that they are stronger than wingnuts hoped.

The reference appears to be to former governor Sanford, who claimed to be "hiking the Appalachian Trial" when he was really taking a vacation in Argentina with a woman who was not his wife. His comeback as a Congressman ended when Arrington knocked him out in the primary, due to Trump lambasting him for insufficient grovelling. He ran against Trump in the Presidential primaries in 2020, not that anybody noticed.

Mace is the lacy aril of nutmeg, crushed and used as a spice.

I'm not sure, like Nancy, what it's good for.

What exactly does Trump have against her?

In any case, she sounds like she would have been a great candidate about 150 years ago, before there was recorded sound. That way she could give contradictory statements all the time and no one would know. Of course to be a politician back then, she would have had to change her gender.
