Yes, it was actually pretty terrifying to hear Rachel lay out in detail how our compromised voting system is directly in danger from #MoscowMitch’s selling out to the Kremlin for that aluminum plant, as well as all the legislation he’s blocked. He’s giving a ton of leverage to the Russians over our country
Rachel's a PhD, and therefore smart enough to avoid going anywhere the business end of the likes of Moscow Mitch without stuffing a big, unlubricated plug in it first. And she didn't plug him.
Mitch rolled over for Mother Russia because Oleg Deripaska is offering to invest $200million in a new aluminum factory in impoverished Ashland, Kentucky. Deripaska's $200million is a fraction of the projected $1.7billion needed to finish the project. Handing a Russian oligarch opportunities to expand Russian control of a major strategic material is stupid, as is allowing him to cheaply rent the majority leader of the U.S. Senate. Kentucky is the home of Toyota's largest factory, Ford makes its aluminum-bodied trucks , GM makes Corvettes there. Maybe the U.S. would be strategically better off if it kicked in $200million to get this plant built without Oleg Deripaska being involved. $200million pays for 3 Lockheed-Martin F-35s. We're expected to be buying 2,400 of them. There was no pushback to paying farmers $14billion to compensate their suffering in a trade war that is supposed to be strategically necessary. Motor vehicle manufacturers will be using more aluminum as they seek better fuel efficiency, so the future demand for this proposed plant's products looks very strong. It's ridiculous to believe this guy's $200 million can't come from somewhere else.
That wreaks of desperation. The Republican caucus seems to be hanging by a single thread if it is too scared to even have a hint of Democratic support. They are afraid that if even one Democratic-friendly bill comes across, the GOP empire is doomed. They are 5-year-olds running around getting all icky about getting L-germs if they touch a Democrat.
Sorry. I keep forgetting most people are not as well-informed as I am on matters Russian and Soviet (ABD, Soviet History, specializing in industrialization).
Someone up in the thread dropped "Tovarich" ("Comrade") as a middle name for Addison Addisonovich (use of first name and patronymic is considered most polite; just accusing him of disloyalty is sufficient disrepect).
Use of Soviet tropes and memes with our authoritarian capitalists now running Muscovy is a particular annoyance.
Nancy Pelosi Calls Moscow Mitch By His Name

Definitely metaphysical.

One of the four words you can never say on television, in Russia.
We’re better. We have seven.
As is good and proper.

High-five, I don't twit or I would up-fist that.
FURBY LIBELZ!
Well, that's just great! I was going to open a can of soup for dinner, but now…
The proper proper term of address would be "you fucking turtle necked wanker."
Since you brought them up..https://youtu.be/GYLBjScgb7o
sounds about right.
So John Conryn thinks who, Donald Trump? Is "elevating the dialogue"?
It's "shut up and let me talk"

Don't do a hundred internet searches a day for #MoscowMitch either, I'm just sayin'.
