I have a nice memory-- well I didn't even understand it at the time but it's been a nice memory since-- when I was a downtrodden high schooler, and I couldn't swim in gym class because of my period. The gym teacher wasn't going to let me put something over on her!! She said I had to go to the dr and have this proven. So I went to the dr. and told the receptionist. She said, 'All right.' She went away for a minute, and returned with a little note and handed it to me."We don't worry about that," she said. I realized I was supposed to go and I did. Sequels to this Event:
a. My mother wrote my gym teacher a letter saying "I don't appreciate your calling my daughter a liar." And I got called in and the teacher yelled at me.
b. I heard the song 'Leopard Skin Pillbox Hat' and I quit school.
Well they might have a person in each town-- I envision a person like Virginia Fox-- to be in charge of a small force of inspectors, who'd report to-- to county sheriffs who after all are the only legitimate law enforcement officers in this nation.
I hope she has a mother. I hope she has a mother who actually chuckled and shook her head when she heard him say those things-- because he's absolutely fantasizing. Because sometimes young people ruin their whole lives just proving they're free of parents like that.
