I think Haley is waiting for Trump to keep over or be in jail, then she can step in.

At which time many Republicans will have to choose between not voting Republican and voting for a non-white "female" as they so graciously identify us.

And I will laugh and laugh.

"but her ghostly presence on Republican primary ballots still provides an opportunity for protest votes"

this only potentially affects Trump...RW garbage will still vote for RW garbage down ticket...Despite being anti-trumper's, they haven't really LEARNED anything....Complaining about the symptom but ignoring the disease which is the republican ideology itself...Never ONCE have I heard any of the republicans complaining about Trump, MTG, Gaetz, Comer, etc ask what it is about the republican party that attracts people like this...Never once do they ask themselves "Why isn't anything like this happening on the OTHER side of the aisle?"

MTG, Gaetz, Comer et al RAN as republicans, were elected BY republicans (sometimes more than once) and WON with those republican votes...So anti-Trumpers...how are these people NOT the face of your party? You can roll your eyes at them ALL you want, but they are you and you are them, and until you learn the republican ideology ITSELF is the problem, you're going to keep tripping over you dick

so, back to top., the ONLY meaningful protest vote is to either vote for Biden, or stay home on election day, anything else is just sniveling passive-aggressive performance art...Which IS kinda your jam these days, so.....

Because I’m an atheist and don’t believe in certain things, including fate, I’m going to share my prediction again…Trump will lose in November in a landslide. He “won” in ‘16 with -3 million votes, due to painful and complicated reasons. He lost by 7 million votes in ‘20, at the height of his MAGA powers and running as the incumbent. It’s very difficult to beat an incumbent, but Trump’s “administration” was so inept, his daily tweets so troubling and embarrassing, Americans couldn’t vote him out fast enough. Despite the usual weird gop talking points, most of which aren’t based on facts, Joe Biden’s administration has done well, and brought stability to our nation. He’s old, clearly. But he’s surrounded by sound leadership and key department heads. Another 4 years of steady leadership is all we can ask for. Trump is more unhinged and isolated than ever. Twice found liable for lying about a sexual assault, now on trial for lying on biz records about paying off porn stars for sex, and facing indictments for many other felonies, he’s so toxic he couldn’t win a 50/50 raffle with every ticket in his tiny paws. Take my word for it. It’s not about enthusiasm for Biden or his youth. It’s about preventing a much darker second Trump era. One filled with vendettas and far less pretending to care about rules, decorum or the limits of his power. He’s going to be bitter beyond belief in his final years, and without any of the connections to semi-established people from his former orbit, his cabinet appointments would be a who’s who of unqualified sycophants with no regard for anything except protecting their position with Trump. America will vote somewhat in line with 2020, but with a few % less coming out for Trump and a few more for Biden. At least a 10 million disparity in voting, maybe even 15 million. The magnitude of the loss Trump will argue is proof that he was cheated again. But there are no fake electors this time. No DOJ or AGs willing to call in favors or risk their own careers or freedom. J6 and The Big Lie will keep them away. The GOP will regroup, move on, finally, from Trump, and possibly enjoy a Tea Party 2.0 movement in 2028. Vote like crazy, everyone. Be sure to vote. But history will not repeat that mistake.

Also after 2016 the FBI and ODNI got off their collective asses and defended the voting systems.

I think the odds are good that Trump will lose this time around. However, I don't agree that the GQP is going to "move on" from Trumpism. I think the rot's too deep by this point. If they aren't already there, they're rapidly turning into a party of nothing but Know-Nothings and conspiracy theorists, wrapped around a core of White/Christian Nationalism. My biggest hope is that the next candidate they put up in 2028 is *also* going to have to say a lot of batshit crazy things to get the nod, and will end up writing the opposition ads for the Democrats as a result. Or they'll just flat-out nominate the most extreme, RWNJ running, a la Mark Robinson here in NC.

Wanted to share some good news that I noticed this weekend. I'm clinging to whatever hope for peeps to not hate each other.

Anyhoo, in Verde Valley the one house that had a shitestain flag up since forever, well, it wasn't there this weekend. Now it could be that there was a freak windstorm or such, but again, holding to hope. Also didn't see as many obnoxious bumper stickers driving through Sedona either. Again, I'm hoping my fellow statemates are seeing the light. I mean a chica can dream can't she?

Wait, Sedona is full of Magats now? I'd expect it to be full of New Age libruls and hippies. :(

When I lived in SoCal, I used to make annual pilgrimages there when you could still camp at Red Rock Crossing, for free even. Then it exploded into a tourist trap, so sadly I've not been back since the late 80s.

yup full of total magats. It's where some of the So Cal peeps fled cuz So Cal was too liberal jejeje(you know where Regan and McCarthy both of them are from, yeah, that 'liberal' haven). I recall the Jenner person moving here as not to see homeless on their way to their private plane. It's real estate monger heaven in Sedona now trying to make all of Oak Creek and exclusive and gated community that that 'thems' can't have access too (akin to Malibu kind of thing).

So, those disaffected Haley 'voters'. Are they likely to end up voting for Biden or just staying home and not voting at all? I mean, some will hold their nose and vote for Trump, but how many? If AIPAC being involved in an election bothers you, and the involvement of other PACs does not, you need to seriously think about the possibility of your being reflexive anti-semitism.

If one hard right Trumpy billionaire trying to buy a seat in a democratic primary does not bother you but the influence of AIPAC does, you really need to sit down and figure out what your issues are. And by you I mean mvario. Because it sure seems like mvario went for something reflexively hella antisemitic.

Sorry runfast but that is some hater shit. Everyone responds with anger sometimes. Please think about who you are angry at, and why. AIPAC had nothing to do with this. The candidate is Hindu or Christian. The primary funder is Christian. And you responded with rage at a Jewish PAC.

AIPAC is not an issue here. You are not talking about left vs right here. You are specifically targeting imaginary Jewish involvement -- which did NOT exist -- in a race where the primary issues was the involvement of a Christian right wing billionaire.

OT

The AZ 1864 Penal code law on Abortion just was just repealed by the AZ State House of Reps.

Several R's crossed the isle to vote with the Dems!!!!!

It now goes to the Az House Senate now. We have 32 State Senators, 17 R, 15 D.

Oh and the State leg is only meeting once a week, on Wednesday, so if the vote

does not happen today, it could be next week, or if Gov Hobbs is sure we have the votes

she may call a special session on the vote. If it passes in the Senate, Hobbs will sign it.

Then we go back to the 15 week law. For now, anyways.

1) Hamas attacks Israel in a horrific manner. Hamas is a terrorist organization.

2) Bibi Netanyahu is a dick, and Israel has been building settlements for years where they should not be building them, and attacking Palestinians, so they aren't totally guilt free. Many Israelis want Bibi to go, and then come to a peaceful solution with the Palestinians. This seems smart to me.

3) Israel then bombs the shit out of Gaza, basically destroying all of their infrastructure, and possibly committing war crimes against citizens, but Hamas does hide within civilian populations.

4) American students are protesting in favor of Gaza, and I get their point, and it's terrible to watch little children being starved to death and being bombed. Some of them are dumb enough to praise Hamas, and say terrible things to Jews in NYC.

5) Mi Johnson and a bunch of other shitheads show up in NYC at Columbia University, to tell the woke university president that she should resign. I HATE Mi Johnson, and just always assume he's wrong about everything, yet I also see the student's point, and they have a right to peacefully protest.

6) I'm starting to think this is a complicated problem, and maybe Jimmy Carter should have been elected to a 2nd term.

7) Will American students be dumb enough to help elect Trump, and allow Trump to help Bibi level Gaza so he can build new condos on the sea there?

Stay tuned!

This horrible war has been exploited to twist and convolute the emotions and alliances of millions and it's absolutely perverse and unforgivable. The brutal, barbaric terrorist organization Hamas visited Israel a sick and sadistic attack on October 7, propagating a waking nightmare that left at least 1,200 Israelis dead, and another 230 were taken hostage.

In response the Israeli government launched an all-out onslaught on Gaza, deliberately bombing civilian targets, deliberately debilitating public utilities and food deliveries, and aggressively verbalizing their intentions to wipe Palestine off of the map.

The far-right authoritarian government Bibi Netanyahu represents have bastardized into the same variety of inhuman monsters that instigated the Holocaust. At this point it's one brutal terrorist organization against another.

And now the angry antagonism is propagating another ugly and dangerous increase in anti-Semitic actions and words here in the US and elsewhere.

Dammit.
