A friend of mine retired from teaching with a buy-out at age 58 but dropped dead before he even got his first pension check. He was the GOP dream citizen, pay into Social Security and Medicare all your working life but drop dead before you can collect anything. Gives them all the $ to keep stealing from those programs, which originally were never supposed to be used for anything else.

Can somebody explain to me why a President Harris would open the hellmouth and bring on the apocalypse? I keep hearing republicans proclaim how terrible she would be as president but none of them ever get around to explaining exactly why she would be so terrible.
I know “brown woman” is part of it, but it’s particularly jarring hearing it from another brown woman.
Simple answer to that - anyone and everyone who asserts that a President Harris would be a bad thing should be told nothing else but that they are a racist. Because that's what they are; that's what they're trying stoke; and that's what they should be held accountable for.
Yeah, Republicans specifically try to paint her as a complete buffoon who'd blow up the world or something rather than address her political positions, which aren't *that* different from Biden's current agenda.
If she were Elizabeth Warren, for instance, they could at least cry WEALTH TAX! but instead they just shout "SCARY BLACK LADY!"
Haley was unemployed before some moneybags offered her this job of running for the repub nomination. She is going to milk this right into 2028. She's already running against Harris. She'll never win but it sure beats working a straight job.
Didn't representative Ronnie Jackson, formerly White House physician for Trump (and Obama) say Trump was the most healthy president ever and should live to be 200 years old?

I worked at REI and did triathlons, cycle-cross racing, touring and commuting and I always wore bike shoes with a clip and clip pedals. I used the flat style on one pair of shoes for commuting, cycle-cross and touring and a pair with the large external clips for the tri-s because you get a much higher torque out of them. I would recommend the flat style for you- you can get the shoes for around 40-70 dollars (REI has a sale now so you may do better) and the pedals and clips for about the same. Unless you have a bike tool set I'd let the techs do the work and they will set you up and also get your seat positioned fit correctly to use them. I can't tell you how often people came in and their seat position was terrible for riding any distance!
And YES they help your efficiency and make it easier to climb especially. You will fall so expect that as part of the learning curve!
Fairly cagey and cynical of Haley - and probably Ramasmarmy - to shoot for Veep and get into the oval through the back door, one way or another. But if MAGA only wants "true believers," who's the logical choice among the field? DeathSentence? Pabs would never go for that. Not Pence, Not Christie. Not Hutchinson, obvs. Who's left? Scott? Bergum? Maybe Perry Johnson has a shot at VP after all. LOL.
