He is aware that Lionel Hutz is a cartoon, right?

"Trump “interviewing various law firms” is about as valuable as saying he’s opened up the yellow pages to see which lawyers have a full-page ad and then narrowing them down by which ones have boobies." HAHAHA, good one!

Habba WAS just getting started….

Getting started at sucking at the law… talking… um…. stuff.

Booyah!

If PAB actually files an appeal, instead of merely huffing and puffing about it, that's GOOD news for Carroll. It means PAB has to pony up the damages, up front, and put them in escrow. So when (not If) the appeal's dismissed with contempt, she'll get paid.

Alina is neither pretty nor smart. She's a broken tool.

I blinked the first time I saw blonde highlights in her hair. Do women get the blonde requirement as a requirement for passing probation, or this part of "other duties as assigned?"

Expand full comment

i said before (a while ago) that she is beclowning herself for the inevitable appeal (on account of inadequate representation among other things) i bet she is being paid a LOT for her beclowning

Expand full comment

Inadequate representation is not one of the choices here because it's a civil trial. Bummer, huh.

Expand full comment

i did not know that - thanks for learning me

Expand full comment

In the civil context you have to sue the lawyer for malpractice. The problem I see for tfg is that he has to show damages. How many of us think that the jury's award was due to his behavior, not her incompetence?

yeah it would be a tough sell given his own behaviour

Does this mean the audition for the part of wife #4 is off? How sad to be you’re fired before you’re hired.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha...(takes deep breath) Hahahahahahahahahahaha!

OK, who saw this galloping up from a long way off, and who hopes Roberta Kaplan presses for sanctions anyway? Hmmm? Also, too, who's going to go buy some bubbly when Judge Engoron comes back with that judgement on the NY fraud case?

OoooooOOOOoooo, this is just TOO GOOD. Pass the popcorn, and more winning, please!

I hope Ms Kaplan AND the judge press for sanctions. This kind of bullshit is making the entire justice system look bad. All decent lawyers should be horrified.

Bought the champagne yesterday, it is almost Happy Hour here so was hoping it would have already been Happy Hour in NY....it's my birthday so I have an excuse to drink it either way...was just hoping 🤑

Happy birthday! No excuse is ever required to drink champagne. (The budget for Dom may require some cuts elsewhere, though. ) Have some of Those Cakes We Like.

Thank you, I didn't go the expensive route this time, had splurged on Cristal in anticipation of the docs case being on a "rocket docket" but we unfortunately had a failure to launch issue, due to the judge having been appointed by the defendant. Hope it keeps well, J6 case will do, if SCOTUS upholds the Constitution.

She's a dummy for sure, but also pretty sure he thinks he doesn't have to pay anyone if he squawks about what a shitty job they did and then fires them. Sadly, it worked for years with building tradespeople who couldn't afford to sue him. Even before his garbage turn pretending to be president, it was clear his grave would be awash in urine someday.

Yeah, I'm not sure anybody else is getting the arrangement Chris Kise got. "Interviewing law firms" probably goes something like this:

"Sure, we'll take your case. We'll represent anybody. You should see some of the sleazeballs we've represented."

"Great!"

"Only thing is we need $3 mil up front"

"NEXT!"

I'm sure Habba is a reptile but it is certain Trump is telling her to "counterpunch" and be "aggressive" and all the other pugilistic bullshit, and she is stuck trying to conjure up colorable legal arguments from his preposterous bluster. It is amazing how many people trade away their reputations and careers for Trump knowing full well he will make Giulianis of them in the end. 100% of the time. It is just remarkable.

Even IF he's telling her to beclown herself, she's under no obligation to DO it. As you say, it's utterly mystifying why so many people sacrifice themselves, apparently willingly, for such a broken reed. I understand it happening while he was (shudder) President - there was a LOT of potential reward for sucking up. Now, however, it's a long shot at best.

There's gonna be entire psychology texts written about this.

He’s a revolting human being IRL, as evidenced by the fact that his wife avoids him like the plague.

Yet he has a lizard brain ability, to hypnotize those who are just as grifty as he is. They are in his thrall.

Common sense and the most basic, obvious ethical standards, are really missing with this group.

Know what would be ironic? If, after losing a huge defamation case, Habba was not just sanctioned, but also sued for defamation herself. Keep reaching for the stars!

She can't be far off. She kept saying things that would have been appropriate if PAB hadn't ALREADY been found liable: but since it's been determined what happened, ALSO implied Carroll was lying.

Carroll could just keep suing this pair for the rest of her life (or theirs, whichever comes first) if she's in the mood.

As I wrote here just last night:

Called it:

As to the update on Habba Dabba Doo. I’m thinking the orange fuckface threw her under the bus a while ago but she doesn’t care. It’s all she has. No looks or brains. But he has no problem using her as a dumb distraction bomb. She can only hold on to that tailpipe for so long and just end up as road kill.

It's not unusual for a client to secure appellate counsel different from the attorneys who handled the trial. Appellate work is a highly specialized area of law, far more rigorous and detailed than negotiating parking lot deals and getting dunked on in a trial when a person doesn't know how to introduce a document into evidence.

But I think it's humorous that Needy Amin stabbed out a due process whine with his stubby little thumbs while simultaneously conceding that he had not one but two trials. How much more process does he "think" is due? He blew off the liability portion of the case, and only got interested in the penalty phase when it became apparent that he was in the path of Hunter S. Thompson's million pound shithammer.

Upfist for Needy Amin...

"conceding that he had not one but two trials"

`

Trying to second guess Stinky's "thought" process is iffy at best, but he seems to be fumbling toward a kindergarten-level claim of double jeopardy.

IANAL, but if I'm to understand what happened here... He had two trials because E. Jean sued him for defamation and won, and then sued him AGAIN, because he just couldn't keep his mouth shut, and won AGAIN.

She sued him twice for two or more *separate* instances of defamation; he didn't have two trials for the same thing.

If I rob the same bank twice on two different days, I would get two trials, one for each robbery.

Expand full comment

He was sued once for sexual assault and once for defamation. He was found liable (not the same as criminal guilt) for both, by a jury for the SA and by default for the defamation. If you rob the same bank twice on two different days, you would get one trial with 2 counts of robbery, unless the 2nd robbery occurred after the actual start of the trial. Jeopardy doesn't attach until the start of the trial itself (in other words, pre-trial motions don't matter with regard to Jeopardy). He could be sued again for defamation, even by Carroll, but it would have to be a new instance of defamation. Just some clarifications :)

Expand full comment

He's done plenty of new instances. If she wanted, she could keep him in court for the rest of his miserable life.
