A great example. There are such monuments all over small-town America east of the Mississippi, and they never fail to move me, despite the sculptures not always being great works of art. Often, the cenotaph was erected after the Civil War, and then later wars just added a plaque with more names on the other side of the pedestal. So you see the same family names for the Civil War, WWI, WWII, and Korea, even sometimes Vietnam.
People should stop and read their local statues now and then.
There's a very detailed plaque on the statehouse grounds explaining in very dry bureaucratese the example of classic Greek sculpture it was modeled after.
The voters passed a Constitutional Amendment requiring the state to form a bipartisan commission to draw competitive districts using modeling software. The Republican majority decided to do it the old way instead, because that works out better for them.
Four maps were declared unconstitutional by the state Supreme Court (and that's with the Governor's son being on the bench), so they found a Trumpy federal judge who not only told them he'd find in their favor if their case came before him, but also which of the four maps he'd designate as the official one.
Our side does have the advantage of all being on the same side as far as democracy and the rule of law goes.

Don't forget Sen. Robert A. Taft - one of the biggest assholes in Senate history.
I can’t argue with the truth. You and Ms. Lincoln are welcome on my lawn anytime.

'The resolution states, in part, that the vote "dishonors" the party' We all know that this would be impossible.
"Way to Eden" libels!
Mark Twain said if he ever learned that the world was ending, he would go to Cincinnati, because they're always 20 years behind the times.
All of the above

Are we in any danger of running out of bullets?
I always thought Dry January was a bad idea.

So, they went that route instead.
