It seems like our good representative realized his actions were unlawful and took steps to avoid being caught for taking those actions.

Too bad the English language doesn't have a word for people who do that.

I thought the phrase was "nibbled to death by cats".

Can't I trust anything I see on TV anymore?

If he thought they were all good guys, he wouldn't have run around the building to be seen coming in a different door.

The gentlemen's agreement used to have honor culture aka shaming backing it and if all else fails, dueling or riding people out of town on a rail. A major reason why the Founders never bothered to put a lot of this removal process in writing was it was simply assumed that if it got that bad.... it would be dealt with in a manner {requiring votes}. The law wouldn't get involved because the mob would get to them first.

The idea of someone like Trump being POTUS would be so ludicrous to them they never bother to theorize how to deal with it. A legislator, charged with a serious crime and still wanting to hold on to their job? What an absurd notion, who would stand for it? Why bother debating and encoding it into law when surely it would be dealt with socially and outside the job?

this guy won his last election by over 25 points. pretty sure he'll win again in 2022 as well. helping overthrow the government is not an unpopular position to take for republicans nowadays, as evidenced by the fact that liz cheney is gonna have a lot harder time getting re-elected than josh hawley is

I dunno, looking at a picture of him, it appears possible he might have at least been partially digested into the lump we see now.

It's a well-known fact that white people are inherently peaceful and never pose a threat to anyone.

All right, there are a few who walk into public places with military-grade weaponry and kill as many people as possible, but they're just lone wolves, and, yes, there are some in law enforcement with a predilection for brutalizing and killing minorities, but they're just bad apples.

Now, those guys in the red aren't fooling around. I'd think a quick baton jammed in their stomachs would take the wind out of their attack.
