Not all were in big rigs. A lot of them were in the biggest, manliest, most tiny-dick-compensatory pickups they could afford (or not). These are not known for their excellent fuel efficiency.

What Nalono635 said. Truck driving is hard, honest work, and the vast majority of truckers just want to get their cargo from A to B on time.

It’s the whole, “the law protects us but does not bind us and it binds you but does not protect you,” mentality. They think anything that annoys or inconveniences them is a crime while they can always do whatever they want because Freedumb!

I'm led to believe they also have high incidence of heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes from the bad food and lack of exercise. So, sounds great! Why aren't young folks rushing out to become truckers?

And where it gets spent — I'm betting a not-insignificant amount is siphoned off by the organizers and ends up in their pockets. It's always a grift with the MAGA crowd.
