Don’t tell me I have to be physically strapped into that contraption! Whar freedom!?!Besides I know several people who don’t wear seatbelts and they’re fine! Sure, some of them went through the windshield, but they’re fine! (Mostly.)

He proved that a guy who barely scraped through a military boarding school knew more about tactics than all the generals at the Pentagon, why would we have any respect for them?

Who could Nazi Laura Ingraham coming?

Cthulu may be able to help with that, we just need to find an appropriate sacrifice. There may be one hanging around a golf course near Mierda Lago.

Laura Ingraham is a Count-Without-The-O.

Never let them get away with claiming they support our troops ever again.

TBF, we have a thing where we publicize and mock people who rage against vaccines and then die of Covid, the right wing has a thing where they publicize and mock people who took vaccines and didn't die of Covid. Same difference.

Do you wear a seat belt when you're walking around at home, or sitting in your office chair, or sleeping in bed at night? Of course not! So why would you wear one in a car?

Exactly the same.

I would likely be dead if I was not wearing a lap belt in a head on collision at 60 mph in 1970. At that time all cars had were lap belts. A drunk driver was coming down the interstate the wrong way, I was stuck in the passing lane with a string of trucks on my right, and I went on the left shoulder, which the drunk guy did too. Anyway, if I had a shoulder belt I could have walked away, air bags would have made it even easier. Hitting the steering wheel with my jaw and chest laid me up for quite a while though. My eyes wouldn't focus for a week and my jaw was shattered on one side. But regardless of seat belts and airbags, if I had a passenger up front they would have died. The whole passenger side of the front end was pushed back into tye passenger compartment and the front tire was pressed against the seat back.

So based on my past experience, if you are driving wear your seat belt, it will save your life. If you are in the front passenger seat, don't bother buckling up because you will die anyway.

Thank you!

My head is still reeling … I was in Germany over Christmas, and things were looking pretty good with mom. I had overseen some modifications on her house to eliminate some of the hazards (like making the shower more age-appropriate) for people with mobility issues (mom had pretty serious osteoporosis) … so, this was like getting kneecapped.

I feel simply lost right now …

Oh hon. I can completely relate to the whole fixing up the house thing. That's what we do for our parents, right?

Especially the independent ones who insist on making their own decisions.

I'd hug the shit out of you right now if I could. I mean a crazy long, uncomfortable hug.

On the one hand, I think Democrats need to become more aggressive against the Republicans. (Seriously, why hasn't Trump been perp walked yet? We've got plenty of evidence against him, and democracy is in danger as long as he's free.) On the other hand, we can (and should) stop the MAGAts without joining them in their moral sewer. We need to find the right balance between wimpy hand-wringing and becoming monsters.
