Well. the way Ms. Kenny put it, "I just couldn't believe this was happening I was just crying and he said, since you have so much to say you are coming too. I just put my hands behind my back" [he = Officer Roid Rage]. So yea, speak out there, you go down.

She was a new student and few of the other students knew her.

But the fact that the officer went back after he secured the girl he beat up to arrest Niya Kenny, the one student who cried out for him to stop but who did not engage physically (other than taping the incident with her cellphone), puts this whole thing in a different light. There is no indication that Kenny was subject to any police instructions before Fields returned to arrest her, after the incident, and, given the angle of the first video, was clear across the room. When informed that she was being arrested, she immediately complied and followed all instructions, but was nontheless booked into the country jail (she was subsequently released on bond). Again, Kenny did nothing other than verbally call for Fields to stop the attack and record the incident on her cellphone. She also said she sobbed, which I suppose is also a crime according to Fields. Kenny was informed afterwards that she was being arrested for daring to speak out during the incident.

Whatever happened with the first girl, there was no probable cause to charge the second one. Basically, Fields went after a whistleblower specifically for blowing the whistle. With that in mind, can you blame the other students for being cowed?

Considering that Fields came back and arrested one of the other students for recording the incident with her cellphone and for daring to call out for the violence to stop (and who was not subject to any police instructions during the incident itself), it's clear that one does not in fact need to commit any sort of offense to get taken in his reign of terror at that school.

Houston ISD has it's own police force. They are equivalent to Houston PD, yet are separate.

I sure hope my children dont disrespect authority to the point that a cop feels they need to "slam" them out their seat. Rest assured they would get their ass beat by the cops and then put on restriction for their behavior. Because they will be raised to respect authority and make their stand at an appropriate time, Which the classroom is clearly not that time.

This kind of racist shit will never stop until there are elected civilian boards to oversee police activity.

...well according to some of the rightwing websites that is MORE than enough for an arrest!!! Why didn't she bow down immediately and lick his boots?!? !7

according to rw websites, probable cause for an arrest is defined as the pleasure of the officer making it. These people don't even seem to accept the premise of innocent and proven guilty anymore.. or Article 1, Section 9 of the US Constitution, for that matter. They assume that the Suspension Clause is in permanent effect.

People who openly affirm their support for the right of public officers to hurl children across rooms for being mildly petulant and the arbitrary detention of other children who dare to document their violence reject the principles on which this country is based. They're not Americans.

...my argument as well, why is it that school administrators decided officer Roid Rage would be appropriate in such a minor mundane issue? Maybe it's because he is the "problem solver" in that particular school.
