While this is pretty heartless, it's not quite as bad as it's being made out to be. The dick who suggested women can always quit, Is still very much a dick.

There is still the federal Pregnancy Discrimination Act that acts as a backstop here. The federal law also requires reasonable accommodations for pregnant women:

If an employee is temporarily unable to perform her job due to pregnancy, the employer must treat her the same as any other temporarily disabled employee; for example, by providing light duty, modified tasks, alternative assignments, disability leave, or leave without pay.

My guess is that the law was intended to provide something more than the minimum federal requirements and the legislative people-with-penises "thought" that was unnecessary. Which is still a dick move, but not quite as dickish as is being portrayed.

What is most maddening that a 30-second Google search would have turned up exactly what you're talking about, just to check to make sure that they can actually pull this off legally, and these assclowns could thusly stop wasting South Dakota's time and money on bullshit legislation. It's like D students have taken over the country.

The federal standard is prety thin compared to ADA, American's wih Disabilities Act. Pregnancy is NOT covered by ADA. Of course "complications of pregnancy" is covered. So if the lady's doctor writes her off work or gives her specific work restrictions due to "complications" then ADA kicks in anyway. And then there is FMLA which also covers pregnancy

Most states that have gone beyond PDA standard have extended the missing bits and rights from ADA to cover pregnancy in general, or have required small employer's who might be exempt from these rules to cover their employees.

Thank you for printing all the facts about pregnancy, birth control, and abortion. One thing it tells you is that it ain't abortion or pregnancy or the lives children that these fuck wads are concerned about; it is having sex. In their twisted minds, they think that if you cut off birth control and abortion, all the good single women will stop having sex and only the bad single women won't. And, the bad single women get what they deserve. And, they get to feel all smug, righteous, and morally superior while they run around and hide all their sexual deviancy, which ain't really because no one but them cares if you are gay or like strap ons or whatever the fuck else all those smug, righteous, morally superior assholes get caught doing.

I have to admit, I was so overwhelmed by the all-American anti-everything-but-old-white-dudes shitshow that when I saw the image at the top of the article, I just went to YouTube and watched this again instead of reading how some folks are being screwed over for having the gall to own their own personal vaginas and uteri. HOW DARE WE?

Just fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck every one of them. With votes. Sideways. In the ear.

And what's with all this expectation that half the American workforce is anything other than ewww, "other" and normal accommodations are "outrageous!" Who do they think they are, people or something?

Exactly. Women ought to know better than to think they have the right to exist as equals in public spaces.
