Kind of off topic but I don't know any other place that might actually care: I've seen a lot of tweets/comments, especially in the last one or two weeks, from people not in CA shouting about how we can flip such and such district in the House - though I share their desire and have been putting in the work, I feel these shouts are sometimes naive. Most of these Republican Reps are from inland conservative strongholds (farm country, voting blue is unthinkable to most - take a look at the signs off the highway about five hours north of LA) and Nunes' district in particular seems less swingable because they voted Trump by the widest margins in the state. I don't have the same level of hope for Northern Repub Reps that I have for the Repub Reps behind the Orange Curtain, whose county went Blue and whose difference in votes between the Walking Orange and Clinton was generally slimmer. Nunes' district is 22: http://images.dailykos.com/... - the pink districts are probably best to focus on: http://images.dailykos.com/...

I also worry that these are historically Republican places (Nixon was born in Yorba Linda). By which I mean: the second a Republican who is handsome or fronts as relatively sane catches their eye, those who didn't vote for Trump might be back on board the GOP train. I hope I'm wrong. I know the LA and OC indivisible groups are on this shit, though, so we'll see what kind of progress we can make together.

He does that on purpose, for comedic effect. I love that about him - it's the equivalent of popping a balloon full of hot air.

On the one hand, Pence might be more effective at getting the destructive RW legislative agenda passed. But on the other hand, Pence probably would not let Steve Bannon and Steve Miller run the presidency. Pence would be more likely to turn the reins over to McConnell, Ryan, and the Dominionists. (None of our options are good.)

That spelling is deliberate--it has a history. This is a Republican voter calling Democrats "morans":http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-T...

I'll bet the Russians never thought they would be confronted with such halfwits running the most powerful and successful nation it world.

They need to consult a agency that specializes in providing better qualified shills. Sorry Mr. Nunes, looks like your contract with Russia will not be renewed.

Lack of morals and ability to lie like a rug are also prerequisites. Also, in the last few years, complete disinterest in and ability to govern.

You're being silly. Expecting the repug deflection questions to actually make any kind of logical sense.

A valid argument can be made that the Dems can't really stop him from being confirmed. He's replacing a conservative. So not really changing the balance of the court. So keep the powder dry in case the worse happens and the GOP gets to replace a liberal before we regain the Senate.I am not absolutely endorsing that and who cares what I think but figure I have to trust the people we elected to make the best choice of action.
