Putin doesn't so much want the USSR back as he wants to be Vladimir I, Tsar of All the Russias.

I get Russia's desire for a buffer zone between it and the West based on its history.

However acting like a land grabby dictator isn't the best path for peaceful conclusion or the best approach for getting understanding.

Hey, there is a grain of truth in Rich Lowry's tweet. Biden is pretty much limited to economic sanctions to hurt Putin. Trump could have bitten down with his teeth at any time during his term and caused Putin a severe penile injury.....

I hate That Fucking Guy and his supporters with the heat of thousand blue-white stars.

I'm sure none of them are really good people.

Putin is just grabbing land to build a bunch of Trump Towers on.

He's just a militarized property developer.

Ban Adidas sales to Russia and declare that anyone wearing a tracksuit in an airport anywhere in Europe will not be allowed to board the flight.

Russia will collapse.

Trump was planning on withdrawing from NATO. Had he been re-elected it’s possible it would have happened. That whole alliance which is United right now in its goal of stopping Putin’s bullshit? Entirely possible it would have been gone or severely crippled with the exit of its biggest partner.

Why risk the biggest prize of all till it was clear your pet wasn’t going to win?

And no it’s not “genius”. The Russian economy was already in a dangerously precarious spot. It was the 46/48th best in growth in Europe. It’s economy is still 85% dependent upon the price of oil. It’s smaller than Canada’s with 10 times the people.

You know how the United States spent 20 years in a country and 5 trillion dollars, despite the government initially falling in a week? Easier to absorb when your GDP is 50 trillion and not 1 trillion.

Remember when Jane Fonda was called a traitor to this day for a stupid mistake she made 50 years ago? And how that was more allowing herself to be used for propaganda not actively praising Ho Chi Minh?

I said yesterday that I am so glad my father is not around to see this. He was a traditional conservative from Montana and my mom was a CT liberal. He voted for Carter not because he didn't like Ford but because of what Nixon did. He voted for Reagan and Bush after that. He was a some time contractor in the '80s who worked on Hanscom AFB and did a couple of six month stints on an observation ship that would cruise the Bering Straight to keep an eye on the Russkies to make sure they were abiding by missile treaties. He died in '94 and I'd like to think that he would have been out of his mind with what has happened starting with TFG's ascension and his fealty to Putin.

So will the gold neck chain industry! But they'll recover; they still have the Arab/Persian market.

For 4 years, Putin's subtle...and not so subtle machinations, succeeded beyond his expectations. Most of our attention was on the Toddler in Chief. "What's he done/said today? Will he ever grow up into a real boy....I mean leader" It was almost like the America is closed. It was the longest "clean-up in aisle 7" ever. The most telling moment was the high profile confidential meeting between Trumpster-Fire and Putin...Putin was skipping like a child with a new toy...Oozy Orange looked like he had just learned a lesson that no amount of lying could unlearn.
