those Tomahawk missiles should come out of his "allowance."Some of us could have done great things with that money (not necessarily me)

snort.We wish, don't we?

Drumpf would never send emails, unless he could attach a nuclear missile to them and have a ghost write them.

Yeah but the B-52 would do real damage. The cruise missiles were more hollywood, fire in the night, shooting off in the sky, just looks better. One wonders if the pictures were actually from the missiles or a practice session filmed by the Navy. It was good for Ratheon's business (Trump does own shares) and for defence contractors everywhere. Amazing how killing people gets americans shooting their load cause we gotta kill some brown fuckers especially with the U.S. congress doing nothing for the last 6 years.

To be fair he went to congress to get their approval and they denied him the ability to take action in Syria

We killed hundreds of thousands of men, women and children in Iraq and Afghanistan but that was ok because we were doing the killing. We waited 6 years to launch a tepid attack. Why not go right after Assad, bomb his ass since he does not care if others are killed. But the U.S. has just gotta show its massive war boner

Wake me up when some pundit reminds us that had it not been for little George's catastrophic war in Iraq, the us would have had the money, will and global standing to actually do something when Assad first started this slaughter.

Yeah really, the whole thing reads like a sick parody... it seems you can never overestimate the bloodlust of Americans.

True. He got as good an outcome as anyone could have obtained:

1. Russia agrees to remove the chemical weapons stockpile;

2. Obama actively looked for, and crossed off, every option that had a plausible ending other (a) utter chaos, (b) extending the war/casualties but Assad stays in power, or (c) permanent US occupation.

It's not as though he didn't give the FSA ample opportunity to prove that they could plausibly create a stable democratic state with US support (and that's without even without adding "no revenge genocide against the Alawites" as a requirement).

What exactly could he have done?

Even if you believe in 'just war theory' (and it gets a bad rap because people always focus on the invaders; surely if US invaded Canada, it would be "just" for Canada to defend itself) it's still a necessary condition that the proposed war can be won in a way that produces a beneficial outcome. If you can't defeat an invader, then "just war theory" requires you to abstain from self-defence, as it's only going to increase the death-count for no benefit), there was no plausible outcome beneficial enough to justify the increased death-count from greater US involvement.

yup, I think he bought what the talking heads were selling.

No one listens to Lyin Brian Williams. He isn't a journalist, he isn't a news person, he is a disgraced nobody wanna be talking head. Web Hubble has more credibility.

Brian Williams is a savage Canadian, which makes his twisted appropriation of Leonard Cohen even worse.
