I think Levin’s tweet is pretty funny whether written by liberal or wingnut, because it illustrates the same thing - NOBODY wants to jeopardize their own 1/2 billion dollars for Trump. It’s a horrible gamble. Even bastion of right wing bullshit, Elon Musk, hasn’t evidently floated the idea. There must be 10 people in Trump’s billionaire weirdo club who could make such a loan, but they aren’t blind. They can see a sinking ship of diseased rats trying desperately to find a lifeline.

And I love Trump’s “happy banks” fantasy. “No victims!” His decades of fraud was victimless, see. His overvalued assets and underpaid taxes hurt no one. Oh, he did default on loans time and time again, including in 1990 when he turned over control of Trump Org to his creditors to avoid financial ruin, and he did default on $640 million to Deutsche Bank, then sued THEM for being upset about his default. But because they had a weird mutual laundering relationship, they made up. It’s just BUSINESS.

Why doesn't Mark Levin give him the $464 million?

Interesting that trump claims that all businesses in New York are in peril, yet he's the only one being that I know of who is currently being charged with fraud. Also note that things like property valuatiosn do not rely on witness testimony--they are documented.

I approve and applaud including written verbatim statements from Trump (rather than sanitized summaries) because it shows how wackadoodle he really is. However, there is a downside. I read the verbiage and hear him saying it in his annoying whining voice. Now I need to go vomit, wash my ears out with soap, and sanitize my brain. Alcohol or bleach, what do you think?

I can differentiate democrats from progressive woke lefties. My comment was an explanation, where yours was intended to insult me. If it walks like a duck; quacks like a duck; it’s usually a duck.

I don't understand how you can differentiate Dems from "progressive woke lefties" since progressive woke lefties are a subset of Dems. What other party could they belong to?

Also note that the term "progressive woke lefties" is a form of insult. Perhaps you need to look to your own manners and stop quacking

I don’t agree with you. Or maybe it is just your ability to perceive. I am a Democrat but not a “woke leftist”, what ever that means. Although I am generally awake for 16 or so hours of the day.

Your title almost discredits the article. When Mark Cuban comes out and says “as much as I can’t stand Trump, the fact that he doesn’t have $455 million stuffed his mattress is standard for billionaires”. I’m paraphrasing a bit, but that’s certainly the gist. It really seems foolish to draw a parallel between ‘poor’ and $455 million dollars.

Anyone with their heads screwed on straight would see how ridiculous the entire thing is, but especially the penalties. Even if he had sell a property or other asset, it would take longer than the allotted time to finish that kind of transaction.

It’s amazing how the progressive woke leftists would defend that monstrosity of a human, let alone how she campaigned on getting Trump. I’m not a big Trump supporter, but when start supporting political ideologies during a campaign (or in other words, “you show me the person and I’ll show you the crime”, is just one more step the lefties embrace without the foresight to see how this could inversely affect themselves.

This is similar to how the lefties reacted when SCOTUS shot down State Justices’ power to remove a federal candidate’s name from a state ballot. It was only after they realized that they could suffer more than right because every red state between CA and NY would work to have Biden’s name removed.

Please don’t respond to this if you’re under the impression that Trump deserved and Biden wouldn’t. Considering that Colorado and Maine cited insurrection as their reason for going down this road. No one was charged with insurrection, and subsequently never convicted of such a crime. Either the state justices were pathetically stupid or they were working with politics in mind.

This entire paradigm where the left supports any means to justify the end, will be the downfall of democratic republic.

Anyone who sincerely includes "progressive woke leftists" in a comment can be safely ignored. In fact I have no idea what you said after that, because that's where I stopped reading. We'll take you seriously when you start acting like an adult.

I don't agree. In fact, I find it annoying that people who have at one time or another in recent years have called themselves "woke," "progressive," and "leftist" say they don't know what "woke progressive leftist" means. Disingenuous at best.

None of us have ever described ourselves as "woke". That's a buzz word your side came up with to demonize us. And it's honestly pathetic. I'd say try harder, but this is clearly the best you can do because none of your attacks are genuine or based in fact.

This platform needs a "thumbs down" for trolls like this guy.

Expand full comment

What exactly do you disagree with? I’m far from a troll just because I have a different opinion! When all you desire is to surround yourself with people who share your opinion, clearly indicates a diminished cognitive road block, which will inevitably stun your intelligence and capacity to engage in debate.

Every point I made was in support of democracy. Just because I feel as though democracy is on the line, citing instances that involve Trump, simply because the most egregious attempts to sidestep the Constitution fall into the Trump world.

If Biden were in this situation, I would call balls and strikes, as it pertains to him. Our two tier system of justice gives Biden a pass on most issues, where Trump gets the shot end of the stick.

The fact that your response identifies me as a troll and that i should be dismissed because you perceived my comments to be a threat fortifies my comments 100%. You will not develop any further intelligence if you continue living in a paradigm where your confirmation bias is the most valuable asset. Your thoughts and tone clearly indicate a deficiency about a whole spectrum of constructs.

Democracy does not need your help. Your tactic of labelling a large group of people as "progressive woke lefties" and then claiming they are all alike is ridiculous. That sort of thing is at the basis of racism, sexism, and other ism's

BTW, the phrase "a deficiency about a whole spectrum of constructs" shows that you're just making things up and attacking by trying to change what words mean. That is a standard right-wing tactic.

As I said before, I am capable of deciphering the differences between democrats and woke progressive lefties. The same is not true with republicans, conservatives and MAGA republicans.

The irony of your statement ‘we don’t your input on democracy’ suggests that you don’t care about anyone’s opinion unless they support your need for confirmation bias.

You inferred that I meant all democrats were lumped into the woke progressive movement. The reason I commented on this article was because its underlying premise is wrong - hard stop. There isn’t law abiding citizens in the United States who stashes $454 million dollars in their mattress. I hate to lump all billionaires into one basket, so I’ll refer to Marc Cuban’s comment where he said no billionaires have that much cash on them.

Donald Trump’s net worth is completely separate from his ability to come up with that much cash without selling major assets. Anyone who doesn’t harbor deep political views would recognize that this was a miscarriage of justice. It’s only the people who hate Trump that would make such an argument. This article, like so many others, are designed to pander to the community who have been manipulated into believing far left propaganda.

This entire article is asthmatically incorrect.

Expand full comment

Apparently you are less capable of deciphering what words mean. The point I made was that there is a wide range of Dems and "woke progressive lefties" are one part of that range. You are trying to create a "woke progressive lefties" label so you can smear an entire group of people at the same time by implying that they are all the same. They aren't.

trump's penalty was based on the sum of his fraud gains, plus interest. Since the bond is based on the gains, it is extremely high because his fraud was massive. He shouldn't get special treatment. If he needs to sell major assets, that's his problem. There is no miscarriage of justice in applying laws and rules to trump on the same terms as they are applied to other people. Since the fraud is documented and has been adjudicated, the bond ruling does not qualify as a "miscarriage of justice" or "far left propaganda."

As for "This entire article is asthmatically incorrect," you seem to have a bad case of verbal diarrhea. While "asthmatically" can be used to describe something that is operating badly (a rusty saw), it makes no sense applied to words.

FYI, I don't hate trump. He's not worth the energy. I just despise him and his actions. I despise you somewhat less for pretending to have no bias when it's obvious you're a trumpster to the core.

I couldn’t finish what you wrote because it was clearly written before the Appellate Court overturned the decision made by the ridiculous judge and that monstrosity Letitia James.

I understand that all democrats look at republicans as MAGA republicans with very little criteria to judge the difference.

The reason this is propaganda is because the entire point was wrong. Anyone who believed the original bond was accurate, clearly believes that Trump should be punished more than anyone else in his position.

According to the latest correction in the bond required only substantiates my point. What you consider to be low hanging fruit, took a pretty dramatic turn for democracy. By identifying your low hanging fruit morphed into a more realistic bond. Obviously, the miscarriage of justice with which you had issues, simply reinforces my point. Your statements, therefore, are rendered moot. If you choose to support Letitia James, a horrific woman, who campaigned on “getting Trump” leads us to a place where she had no crime in mind, but come hell or high water, she would get him in one way or another.

It’s too bad that woke progressive lefties prioritized getting Trump by employing “you show me the person and I’ll show you the crime”, would support the initial bond of $454 million was applied as an equal application of Justice. God knows, if it were Joe Biden, you and the other lefties, would certainly protest on every major intersection in America.

You were premature in your assessment in the support of a ridiculous initial bond amounted to nothing but propaganda. There’s no way anyone but the woke progressive lefties would support this in the name of equal applied justice.

Your premature belief that the initial bond clearly indicates the difference between a democrat and a far left progressive woke ideology. This country is deep trouble as long as people support any means is justified as long as we get the desired outcome as it applies to Trump. I think you nailed my point spot on.
