Am I misrembering things, or did I hear that the new case against Epstein would be brought by a public corruption unit, or something similar.. I vaguely recall some guy on the news saying that people shouldn't read too much into that decision, which ok, fine, but then the next day it comes out that Acosta was taking secret meetings, seemingly in the interests of not his client?Am I wrong to wonder whether these events could be related? or have I joined dots that can't legally be joined?
I watched Ken Burns' film on Huey Long last nite. It was very interesting. Whether Huey saw the poor as needing help or as giving help to the poor as a way to enrich himself is a question. However, in his first term as governor he helped more people in Louisiana than the previous 3 governors, and he built more roads and bridges than ever before.
Which still sets off red flags for me, given what we know about these people how did it "ruin his life" when he said he would not be allowed to coach girls softball?
I think the truth is that he saw it both ways. He honestly wanted to help the poor, and he was not averse to enriching himself at the same time. Money is power, and if you want to unseat the rich white elites who had things all their own way in Louisiana for 300 years (and still do), you need power wherever and however you can get it. Very few people in history managed to overthrow the establishment without a lot of money. Jesus and Gandhi come to mind, but they were exceptional cases.
Hmm. That sounds so unfair. Couldn't he make arrangements to be financially compensated for the inconvenience he is suffering for all of this? So relieved to learn that he will not be separated from his tit-festooned bathtub. How hellish would that be?
Now that looks like a woman who knows her place. The crossed arms of the older girl suggest to me that she is aware that she's been dealt a crap hand, but she's biding her time until she has more options. One of which will be never voluntarily wearing fuchsia again. The younger one? She exudes an air of studying her captor and taking note of exploitable characteristics. Hmmmm, he's right-handed; note that, she seems to be thinking. But the mother? Just . . . broken.
The picture that accompanies this article makes it the first time I have ever seen a caricature that makes somebody look better than they do in real life.
Acosta, who, to put it politely, has an unfortunately constructed noggin, will likely steal it and use it as his official portrait (just photoshop an American flag in the background) ... or his dating site photo. I would if I were him.

So true! The degree of bulbosity of Acosta's his head is matched only by the shrivelledness of his soul.
No kidding. Somebody on Twitter the other day said that’s the real reason for Trump and Epstein’s falling out.
