Ta, Evan. I shall always loathe Russ Smith, the right wing asshole who gave fucker snarlson his first NYC job, a column in his paper, NY Press. Why was I reading NY Press? It had a great array of cartoon art (Tony Millionaire's Maakies was the best).

You know, we haven't had a good ol' fashioned Crusade to the Holy Land for a while. Time to dust off the armour and air some grievances in the way that all followers of the One True God can only do that.

Let the trash fight. And all that stuff they are saying about him is true. But, while treatment of minority religions in Israel is certainly far better than in other countries in the region, Christians DO get spit at and hassled by members of the ultra Orthodox. To be fair, they also spit at and hassle Jewish people who are not Haredim.

Carlson is slagging on Israel? That kind of surprises me. Is he known for anti-Semitism or something? Because that's the only possible reason to criticize Israel about (probably minimal to nonexistent) mistreatment of Christians while utterly ignoring what it's doing to Gaza.

Tuckums could be back. Republicans love a good redemption arc so long as the target debases themselves adequately for the masses.

Why does everyone take an instant dislike to Tucker Carlson?

Tuckem's defenders really drive home Seth Mandel's point, don't they?

But, ya know, Carlson has been on the air since 2000, and he has ALWAYS been like this. They're just now noticing?

I wonder if Congressman Crenshaw ever appeared on his Fox News Program?

I wonder if Congressman Crenshaw ever voiced those opinions directly to Tucker Carlson while appearing on his Fox News program?

Remember, when they start eating each other:

Remind them to use the proper fork

Ask if they would like freshly cracked pepper on that

And didn't he die in obscurity?

Although I thought Limbaugh (spits) was closer.

"He does this for one simple reason: clicks and engagement, which of course translate to monetary benefit. He wants you to believe he is the last place you can go to for truth, that he’s the ONLY one brave enough to reveal the elitist lies being told."

Up until that point, if I didn't know it was Crenshaw, I would have assumed it was an endorsement of the proven rapist Defendant Trump.

If only someone on the far right had some self-reflection, it would be fun to see how they justify turning on Little Lord Fishsticks and yet still support the proven rapist Defendant Trump.

You know, you find yourself agreeing with Crenshaw until you read this sentence:

"This nonsense about Christian mistreatment in Israel is just the latest example."

and you realize what they are actually mad about.

It has nothing to do with his support of Putin. It has everything to do with him interviewing someone who is a Palestinian, a Christian, and who is critical of Israel's treatment of non-Jewish citizens.

You should look up who you are loving in your orgy of hatred of Jews. The guy is a nut.

He is someone you would HATE for his extremist views except your hatred of Jewish people blinds you.

The Christian population in Israel is about ~185k.

The Christian population in the West Bank is about 1,000.

In 1950, Bethlehem and the surrounding villages were 86 percent Christian. But by 2016, the Christian population was moving to 10%, in the West Bank it is now 2%.

There were only about 5k Christians in Gaza in 2006 when Hamas murdered all political opposition and established an autocratic theocracy. It was fewer than 1,000 on Oct 6th.

The Israeli population of Christians has remained stable.

Stop being such a hater your betray everything you claim to believe in. Nearly 500 temples had bomb threats in the United States. Hate crimes against Americans who are Jewish have increased hundreds of percent. You are supporting hate and war, not peace.

Hey, hater, do you know the leading cause of death of girls in Gaza? Pregnancy related causes. Child marriage and child rape are so common that this is the *leading cause of death of girls under Hamas rule*.

https://borgenproject.org/child-marriage-in-palestine/

" In the West Bank, 21.3% of girls have had a live birth below 18, and in the Gaza Strip, the number is 23.8%. Pregnancy-related deaths are the leading cause of death in both married and unmarried girls below the age of 18."

Christians have not been eaten by lions in Colosseum for quite a while, but we still have to hear about this persecution shit. It's not fucking happening anywhere except in State Houses where the bible beaters are trying pass every law possible to eradicate the rights of everyone except white men.

Expand full comment

The Colosseum was built by Jewish slaves and Jewish wealth taken in the brutal crushing of the revolt of Judea & the looting/destruction of the temple in 72 CE. Pretending it was reeeaaaallly the Christians who were abused is right in line with this interview.

Even the persecution by the Romans has been greatly exaggerated. It mostly sporadic and region. The worst periods were under Nero and Diocletian, but the norm was different. Roman officials more often than not, left Christians alone unless they were seen as trouble makers.

Sometimes I almost wish that for just one month Christians were as oppressed and persecuted as they pretend to be. Just so they would know how it would ACTUALLY be before they spout off about "mah religious freedums!"

(To be clear, I say "almost" because I don't want anyone to be persecuted for their spiritual beliefs, whether I agree with them or not. I just don't want them imposing them on other people)
