supposedly it cuts down on wind resistance....which maybe makes a bit of difference if you actually race but for the most part, they're all weekend warriors, well, weekend bicyclists, they could be just fine in normal shorts and a t-shirt.

for myself...it's always been a vest with a napoleon pocket ( winter time i wear a long-sleeve, spring time a t-shirt under it, and summer time it's just the vest alone) and a pair of decent mountain biking shorts ( not as form fitting as biker shorts but slim)

and if you needed to choose between padded or not padded shorts, padded isn't worth a damn...if you can't ride through the pain in your upper leg and ass, you might just wanna give up ( that's if you ride longer than 1 hour)

Not to be confrontational, but the closing of Subic Bay was NOT our unilateral decision.

Many months before the expiration of the Military Bases Agreement of 1947 intense negotiations between the governments of the United States and the Philippines began. These negotiations resulted in the Treaty of Friendship, Peace and Cooperation between the United States and the Republic of the Philippines.[14] This would have extended the lease of the American bases in the Philippines. On September 13, 1991, the Philippine Senate rejected the ratification of this treaty.[15]In December 1991, the two governments were again in talks to extend the withdrawal of American forces for three years but this broke down as the United States refused to detail their withdrawal plans or to answer if nuclear weapons were kept on base. Finally on December 27, President Corazon Aquino, who had previously fought to delay the U.S. pullout to cushion the country's battered economy, issued a formal notice for the U.S. to leave by the end of 1992.[16}

Also from Wiki:

Beginning in June 2012, the Philippine government said that the United States military could use the old base, as long as prior approval was granted by the Philippine government. This follows expanded military ties between the two nations, and an American pivot towards Asia.[19] This follows a Visiting Forces Agreement made in 1999, that saw annual visits of United States forces to conduct large scale exercises (known as Balikatan) between the two allies.[20] The Sydney Morning Herald reported on 20 November 2012 that Subic Bay will host US ships, Marines and aircraft on a semi-permanent basis which according to analysts will give the US a strategically important force posture for its shift in emphasis to the Pacific.[21]

So, it appears as if we have a small presence at what remains of the Subic Bay naval base, but clearly, not something that was "begged for", but negotiated as part of closer ties....

It sure sounds like "Asia's Trump", Duterte, doesn't give a shit.

I don't have the source, but I remember reading recently that a spokesperson for that "...And Justice For All" PAC claimed to have offered to "refund" the $25000, but was told by the Trump Fouindation that they didn't have to, since Rump had supposedly given the Foundation $25000 to make up for the originak donation.

That does nothing to the appearence of corruption on the part of either Rump or AG Bondi - and the PAC should be made to give up that donation. If the Trump Foundation won't take it, donate to the Pulse victims fund...

I've never seen anything close to that expression on Obama's face.

Of course, there isn't as much "talk" about Abbott's transaction in the media as there is about Bondi's - but one can hope!
