Common decency isn't brain washed in, or even all that hard. It's sad that you think shared decency is the result of training rather than the standard to strive for.
When I first moved to Fl it was so hot n' humid, n dumb, we used to wonder at women wearing pantyhose, we'd say; "Jesus, you could bake bread in there". *shows self out*
When it starts to steam, it's scalded. Or, let it get a little foamy around the edges of the pot, which is another indication of scalding. Another test: you can just barely stick your finger in scalded milk. It will hurt, but it won't take the skin off like boiling milk does.
Also, sorry, but it's not the same to let it boil and then cool. Changes the chemical reaction.
For the love of Crom: It's 7:20 am and I have already gained 20 pounds from my Wonkette feed.
(Feed. Get it?)
When the recipe madness stops, are we going to have a normal Wonkgenda for the day?
You don't need to wear pants for recipes....so still normal.
Scald the milk ... can't I just scold it? This is one cooking term I don't know. Scalding isn't boiling? Or is it more than that?
OT but following Alyssa Milano is way more fun than I thought it would behttps://twitter.com/Alyssa_...
Or go crazy and make croissants! They take two days, so start now, but homemade ones are amazing.
Love Mojopo's recipes!!! If you haven't tried them, do so NOW. I have, and they're very good!
Scalding is heating just about to boiling, but not boiling.

Brilliant.
I'm making popovers.

I lurve popovers, hot and dripping with butter. Don't make them often, but I bought one of those special popover pans anyway.

How do you bend a turkey?

Yep, ring of bubbles on the edge of the pan but no bubbles anywhere else.
