a new south a renaissance of unique culture, music and lifestyles. New solutions to old questions. Brand new young voices. Without the stranglehold of old racist folkways. Wouldn't that be something.

Trump's border wall construction is disturbing ancient burial sites, just as the tribal reps said it would.

While we're getting rid of ICE, let's think about getting rid of DHS altogether.

Credit where it's due, without Stacey Abrams hard work over the last decade, there's no way that southern Dems would be where they are today.

November doesn’t have a soundtrack. October has Halloween songs. December has Christmas songs.

But what type of music puts you in November/Thanksgiving kind of mood?

Tia Loca's avatar

The Eagles: autumn leaves.

Shut up I don’t care if you hate the Eagles.

November Rain? They don't have to be good songs, do they?

Musician and lyricist Chris Difford of the band Squeeze is 72 years old today. Here he is singing "Cool For Cats":

And here's the band in 1990 playing "Annie Get Your Gun":

And from his 1984 Difford & Tilbrook album with bandmate Glenn Tilbrook, here's "Man For All Seasons":

We saw them at Radio City Musical Hall a few weeks ago; they put on a fine show.

Mysterysurf's avatar

I was going to get to that, but you beat me to it! He did a great version of "Gypsy Woman":

"See how your neighbor voted in Texas"?? Is that actually a 'thing' in Texas? I thought ballots were secret. The page linked below has a box to enter an address. I didn't try it because I don't know any Texas addresses.

Tell me it is not possible.

We can only know how Katie Miller voted.

Oh, yeah, right, she didn't . . .

Motherfuckers know how I voted... my lawn guy spends 10 minutes mowing my yard and an hour replacing my "Vote Talarico" and "Gina for Governor" signs.

Real scientists call it punctuated equilibrium. It's the beating heart of our planet. It also happens to be how the authoritarians gain control & get the boot.

Complicated day. Getting to work was a more stressful journey than I'd have liked. Started off theater cleaning with a field trip by the senior class of a high school. But otherwise, today was kept in good spirits. And I'm right back to crying again like I've wanted to all day because my emotional dam is cracked right now and I'm not wasting the chance.

Rosy red ASS's avatar

I did a fair amount of crying earlier when I saw that voters were placing their "I voted" stickers on the memorials of Renee Goode and Alex Pretti. They are good tears.

Because I’m a petty bitch, I keep looking up the results for various Republican politicians who have made me extra pissed off. Bye-bye, Virginia Foxx, you hateful crone. It also looks like Mike Lawler is losing in NY, but it hasn’t been called yet.

BURN THEIR BODIES AND SALT THE EARTH.

Already looks like she’s

in a crow cage…

And not even the vultures wanna taste.

So let’s go with burning
