Seen on the C train today, a man runs in, sits down. Quickly followed by 2 cops. They surround him and say you gotta leave or we'll eject you. He started to argue but was assisted in standing up and escorted off the train with a cop on each arm. Next stop 3 firefighters in full gear were waiting on the platform. I think that's a full house in subway poker.

Okay, here's a take. it's not a good one, but it's a take:

I'm having trouble eating tonight b/c it feels somehow wrong to eat food when people are burning to death in LA.

Logically I know that going hungry doesn't help ANYONE a thousand miles away from me, but I'm still just struggling with the unfairness of the world. Like why the fuck do I have food and a place to sleep when an entire megalopolis is burning down?

And, yes, I remember the Oregon fires and more acres were at stake then, but far fewer lives.

And yes, I also remember the Rwandan genocide, and all I can say is,

1) I don't like that it's humanly normal to be more affected by people closer to you in places you've visited, but it is still humanly normal, and I am still human, if not normal

2) I didn't eat for a good week during the Rwandan genocide, also, too.

plus,

3) Didn't I mention that it's not logical? It just is.

Maybe I can drink some tea.
